Galop (The Can Can) by Offenbach, from Orpheus in the Underworld.
The correct name for this piece is 'Gallop' from the Operetta 'Orpheus in the Underworld. A fast (tempo) and lively tune in 2/4 time (metre), with a very steady beat, it is suitable for the Can Can dance, made famous in the Moulin Rouge in Paris. Uses the full orchestra often with instruments alternating with each other like they're talking to each other. Offenbach is French. The Operetta 'Orpheus in the Underworld' was composed in 1858.
